Bhubaneswar to Bangkok direct flight service is starting again from today. Indigo is starting flights on this international route again in view of the winter season. This is a season when people generally plan vacations.
With the start of this service, which was temporarily suspended since last July, direct travel to foreign countries from Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar will resume.
Indigo flight 6E-1065 the Bhubaneswar to Bangkok direct flight will depart from Bhubaneswar for Bangkok at 11:05 pm tonight.
After reaching Bangkok, the flight will depart for Bhubaneswar at around 5:30 am tomorrow. Initially, this service will be available twice a week. Flights will operate from Bhubaneswar on Fridays and Mondays and from Bangkok on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
However, the flight timings will change from October 25. While there are currently night flights, this service will be available during the day from October 25.
Direct international flight services from Bhubaneswar have been affected for a few months. As a result, despite having international airport status, there was disappointment among passengers over the lack of direct flights from Biju Patnaik Airport to foreign countries.
Now, the resumption of Bangkok service has brought reassurance to passengers. According to the airport authority, there is good passenger demand on the Bhubaneswar-Bangkok route. Direct flight service will be convenient for Odisha tourists going to Thailand as well as business travelers. After that, the focus will be on the Dubai and Singapore connection.
Efforts are underway to resume Dubai flight services once the situation normalizes. Similarly, it is said that there is not enough passenger demand on the Singapore route at present.
The airport authority is hopeful that if the number of passengers increases in the coming days and the airlines agree, flight services to Singapore can also be started.
