A shocking test report about duplicate paneer in Cuttack has come to the fore. The samples of the cottage cheese in Cuttack was collected during the raid. This was during the period when the crackdown on the sale of unadulterated cheese in Cuttack city was underway.
The test report has revealed that about 73 quintals of cheese seized during the crackdown was adulterated. This was true for paneer collected from various places in Cuttack city making it unfit for consumption.
Following complaints about alleged duplicate paneer in Cuttack the sale and supply of cheese in Cuttack city was checked. The KMC Health Department conducted raids at various places. During this crackdown, a large quantity of cheese was seized and its samples were collected and sent to a lab in Haryana for testing.
Reports say that, the test report that has come out now has revealed that the seized cheese is unfit for consumption as food. According to the report, flour and detergent have been found mixed in the cheese.
After receiving the report, it has been sent to the Food Safety Commissioner. After receiving the instructions of the Commissioner, further action will be taken in this matter as per the law. Legal action will be taken after the order is issued.
After receiving the report it was found that a huge quantity of paneer that is as much as 73 quintals was unfit for consumption. Questions have been raised about the quality of the paneer sold in Cuttack city. The raid against adulterated and unsafe food will continue in the future, informed the Kataka Municipal Corporation Health Officer.
