Leaves of Odisha government employees cancelled as the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall. Keeping this in mind and as a precautionary step the Chief Secretary of Odisha Anu Garg has cancelled leaves of all government employees.
It is worth mentioning here that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state from today till September 24. The Meteorological Department has issued a red warning for a few districts of the State.
In this regard, the District Collectors of all these districts have been alerted. The Leaves of Odisha government employees cancelled as the MeT has predicted heavy rainfall. Senior officers have been asked to assist the District Collectors and keep a close watch on the situation.
Sensitive areas have been identified and cyclone shelters have been prepared, and evacuations have been ordered where necessary. The ODRAF teams have already been deployed in the likely to be affected areas. The state government has prepared the steps by estimating the rainfall due to the effect of the deep depression. The Chief Secretary and the SRC have reviewed the steps taken.
The State government has intensified preparations for the possible cyclone. As there is a possibility of rainfall in various parts of the state due to the effect of the deep depression, the administration has been asked to be alert in the affected districts.
In this context, the state government has cancelled the leave of government officials in the potentially affected districts. The officials who are currently on leave have been directed to join work immediately. The district administration has been asked to monitor the situation in their respective areas and be ready to deal with any kind of emergency that arises.
