A red flag at Puri beach marks dangerous waters with strong currents. Firefighters and lifeguards have been deployed on the beach and are asking the tourists to stay away from the water.
Tourists are being repeatedly requested not to enter the rough sea. The administration has advised not to bathe in the sea until the weather improves.
Meanwhile, people in the lower areas of Puri district have been alerted in view of the heavy rain. Various cyclone shelters in the district have been kept alert for any emergency.
Dry food and drinking water have been arranged in the shelters, and special steps have also been taken for water drainage.
On the other hand, all the anganwadi centers in Puri district have been closed today due to heavy rain. While the administration is monitoring the weather situation, people have been asked to be alert and follow all safety instructions.
