Social media guidelines for police issued by Commissionerate and checks have been put on various aspects. Police Personnel have been asked to refrain from posting photos, videos on social media while in uniform.
Restrictions on posting photos and videos on social media while on duty have been imposed under the new social media guidelines for police issued by Commissionerate. The Commissionerate Police has brought new guidelines for police officers. Strict action will be taken against police officers who take videos while on duty.
In this regard, Director General of Police Binaytosh Mishra and Police Commissioner S. Devdutt Singh have given a strict warning. Only necessary official videos can be made during duty. However, personal videos or videos for social media are not allowed.
Police personnel cannot post photos and videos while on duty in sensitive places. There is a risk that such posts will create a threat to the security system. Police officers cannot post photos of sensitive places in the capital while in uniform.
This new guideline of the Commissionerate Police has been issued keeping in mind the confidentiality and security of duty. If such incidents come to light in the future, strict disciplinary action will be taken against the concerned employees, the Police DG and Commissioner have clarified.
