Odisha CM condoles death of 8 Odias in Madhya Pradesh road accident. The Chief Minister took to his X handle and expressed his grief and shock. Further the CM is in talks with the the administration in Madhya Pradesh to bring back the mortal remains to Odisha.
CM Mohan Majhi took to his X handle and condoled the death of 8 Odias in Madhya Pradesh road accident. He wrote, “deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Odia tourists in an accident in Madhya Pradesh. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. May the departed souls rest in peace.
The CM further added, “I have directed officials to coordinate with the Madhya Pradesh Government and local administration to expedite all necessary procedures and ensure that the mortal remains are brought back to Odisha with due dignity. The State Government stands firmly with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.”
It is worth mentioning that, there has been a car accident in Madhya Pradesh as eight people from Odisha have been killed as their vehicle got swept away. The deceased include three children, two women and three men.
Accordig to reliable reports, the people died after the car carrying them was swept away by a rain-swollen stream. The car accident in Madhya Pradesh took place near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, Agar Malwa district.
All the deceased were residents of Odisha and had travelled from Ujjain to offer prayers in the temple. Preliminary findings suggest the driver may have attempted to cross the stream hastily amid a strong current, leading to the accident.
Administrative officials and rescue teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The identities of the deceased are being ascertained said a police officer.

UPDATE:
The Prime Minister has also condoled the deaths and has granted an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh to the next of kin and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
The X post of the PMO read, “The mishap in Agar Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, is extremely painful. I extend my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. An ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.”
