Traffic restrictions for Odisha Assembly monsoon session have been imposed in Bhubaneswar. The upcoming Monsoon session of Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin from September 22, and will continue till October 3.
In order to ensure the safety of the public and the movement of vehicles during the proceedings of the Assembly, the following restrictions have been imposed on the roads adjoining the Assembly.
The restrictions have been imposed as per Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Area Act, 2003 (Section 8 of the Odisha Act, 2007) and Section 36 of the Police Commissionerate, Bhubaneswar- Cuttack, Traffic and Public Order and Regulations, 2008.
- All vehicles coming towards Rabindra Mandap from Housing Board Chowk can proceed to their destination via the left side road from Keshari Talkies.
- All vehicles coming towards A.G. Square from P.M.G. Square can proceed to their destination via the Indira Gandhi Park Road on the right side near Jaydev Bhawan.
- All vehicles coming from Master Canteen Square can take the left or right side road from Lower P.M.G. Square.
- All vehicles coming from 120 Battalion Chowk towards Rabindra Mandap will take the Power House Square.
- All vehicles coming from Lok Bhawan Square towards MLA Colony and Rabindra Mandap will take the Shastri Nagar Square.
The above traffic restrictions for Odisha Assembly will not be applicable to vehicles engaged in emergency work (police, fire and ambulance) and vehicles authorized to go to the Legislative Assembly, State Secretariat and other government offices. The above restrictions will remain in force during the Assembly session.
It is worth mentioning here that according to earlier reports, the Monsoon session of Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin from September 22, it will continue till October 3.
The session will have just nine working days. One of the days is a holiday whereas two other days are “no meeting” days. The detailed schedule of the Monsoon session of Odisha Assembly is yet to be finalized.
