Flights will go directly from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok from October yet again. The suspended international flight services will be operational again. IndiGo has started booking for Bangkok from October 2.
The airport authority has set a goal to provide hub and spoke services so that international flight services are not disrupted in the future. As a result, international flight services will be available to multiple destinations in the future.
Earlier, there were flights to Bangkok, Singapore and Abu Dhabi twice a week. In the later phase, due to lack of passengers and increase in price of aviation fuel, airlines canceled these flights. As a result, passengers coming to Odisha were dependent on other airports.
However, with hub and spoke services flights from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok flights will arrive and depart via other cities. But passengers will no longer have the problem of luggage and boarding. As a result, more destinations will also be accessible, said the Bhubaneswar Airport Director.
Bhubaneswar Airport handles 5.1 million passengers annually. Bhubaneswar Airport is considered the 13th busiest airport. Therefore, in order to further attract more passenger services, the special passenger service 2026 program will be run monthly.
Along with special services for specially-abled passengers and senior citizen passengers, there will be special programs for the promotion of culture and folk art. Emphasis will be given to various aspects such as cleanliness, security and parking.
