Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the enhancement of the EPF wage ceiling from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month.
EPFO on its official X handle informs that the decision will be effective from Vishwakarma Day, 2026.
The decision is expected to bring more than 51 lakh additional employees within the ambit of mandatory EPFO coverage. The annual Government expenditure is estimated at about Rs.11,339 crore.
Approximately 51 lakh employees, specifically those falling within the Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 salary bracket, will benefit from this change and will now be covered under the revised PF regulations.
