Flood situation in Odisha

The flood situation in Odisha has shown considerable improvement, most of the rivers across the state have recorded a decrease in water levels. Following the fall in water levels across the rivers in the state, the government has become proactive. Restoration work has begun on war footing.

As the flood situation in Odisha improves public health and safety is being accorded the highest priority in the affected areas. The purification of tubewells, along with the distribution of clean drinking water, has been extensively and swiftly expanded by the government of Odisha.

Further, the State administration is  fully alert and proactive and is ensuring the safety and health protection of the people. It is generally seen that post floods a number of water-borne diseases affects people. The state government is pro active and is taking all necessary steps to prevent any such outbreak.

The government of Odisha has also begun a detailed assessment of the damage caused by the flood and has announced financial assistance to those affected. The Government has assured to pay one lakh twenty thousand rupees for families whose houses were completely destroyed in the flood. In addition to that Compensation has also been announced for partially damaged houses and crop loss.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has shared an X post about the flood situation in Odisha which roughly translates as, “As the flood situation improves, public health safety is being accorded the highest priority in the affected areas. The purification of tubewells, along with the distribution of clean drinking water, has been extensively and swiftly expanded. The administration remains fully alert and proactive to ensure the safety and health protection of citizens.”
