Rainfall continues in Odisha

Rainfall continues in Odisha across various locations due to the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. Particularly heavy rain has occurred in southern Odisha, say reports.

Heavy rainfall is likely today in Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, and Koraput districts. A ‘Yellow Warning’ has been issued for these five districts. Similarly, a ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for 14 districts due to the likelihood of lightning and thunderstorms.

Rainfall continues in Odisha but the intensity is expected to decrease from tomorrow. Though the Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for 13 districts for tomorrow due to lightning and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, in Malkangiri district the Poteru and Kanyashram bridges have been submerged due to incessant rain. Two feet of water is seen flowing over both the bridges, bringing traffic on National Highway 326 to a halt. Due to this, National Highway 326 remains completely closed from Malkangiri to the border town of Motu.
