Famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a beautiful and mesmerising Lord Shiva sculpture to mark first Shravan somvar in Odisha. The picture of the sculpture was shared by the Padmashree awardee on his official X handle.
The sculpture has been created on the Puri seabeach in Odisha. Pattnaik said that this is a way in which he has shown his devotion to Lord Shiva. The sand sculpture has the famous chant “Har Har Mahadev” written across it.
The world famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik shared a picture of the sculpture on his official X handle and wrote, “Har Har Mahadev! (emoticons of folded hands and an om) On the auspicious First Monday of #Shravan, I offer this sand art in devotion to Lord Shiva.”
He further added, “I pray to Mahadev for world peace, good health, happiness, prosperity, and the well-being of all. May His divine blessings be with us always.”
The sculpture has all the elements of Shravan somvar in Odisha with two Kanwariyas bowing in devotion and offering pots of water to a Shiva linga. It also has a statue of Lord Shiva with a Kailash mountain in the background.
It is worth mentioning here that August 3 marks the first Shravan somvar in Odisha. Serpentine queues of Kanwariyas has been witnessed in Shiva temples across the state.
