State Level DGP and IGP Conference

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the State Level DGP and IGP Conference organized at the State Police Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.  He reviewed the law and order, internal security and ‘Smart Policing’ system of the State.

Further, he called for working with determination towards building a “Safe Odisha, Empowered Odisha and Prosperous Odisha” and emphasized on police reforms and modernization.

Key guidelines and important decisions of the Chief Minister at the State Level DGP and IGP Conference:

Instructions to implement a strict ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy against violence against women, organized crime and anti-social elements. Proposal to increase the conviction rate in violence against women from 40% to a minimum of 75%.

Call to completely destroy the main syndicates and financial supply chain of drug trafficking to create a ‘Drug-Free Odisha’ by 2029. Strict action against illegal extortion and ‘Dada Bati’ ahead of the upcoming festive season.

Command and Control Centre, drones, trawlers, interceptor boats, ATVs and ex-servicemen to protect the 575 km long coastline. Modern digital surveillance to prevent cyber fraud, strict monitoring of ‘dark web’ and widespread awareness creation.

Special investigation fund sanctioned for strengthening the intelligence system through modernization of police stations. Emphasis on making the crime investigation process more professional and modern technology-based.

The CM further said that there is a need to make the police system completely corruption-free, clean and trustworthy.
