Low pressure likely again in Bay of Bengal, rainfall to increase in Odisha from August 29. While a new low pressure is likely to form in Bay of Bengal, the amount and extent of rain in the state may increase from August 29.
There is a cyclonic circulation near the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast in west-central and north-west Bay of Bengal. It is likely to become more active and turn into a low pressure between August 31 and September 1. According to the IMD forecast, the rainfall to increase in Odisha from August 29th. Rainfall may increase in many districts of north and interior Odisha.
There is also a risk of heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places. Orange warning is likely to be issued for some areas of north and central Odisha from August 29 to August 30. This rain phase may continue till the beginning of the first week of September.
The weather will be comparatively calm today. Light to moderate rain may occur in many places in the state. There is a yellow warning for heavy rain at one or two places in Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts. However, there may be a major change in the weather soon.
Odisha may witness another bout of widespread and heavy rain by the end of the month due to the influence of a possible new low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal.
