There has been a considerable rise in the number of H1N1 virus cases and the Health Ministry has issued a H1N1 virus alert. According to experts, this time the cases of H1N1 are quite severe. Along with this, family members are also contracting the illness more easily.
The main point that experts are pointing out is that the virus circulates for many years, but the patterns keep changing every year. Changes keep occurring in their subtypes as well. Hence this leads to change in their symptoms.
The illness caused by the H1N1 subtype this year is a bit severe and affecting more people. In such a situation, everyone is advised to exercise extra caution and H1N1 virus alert has been issued.
The Health Ministry has said, “Fever, cough, sore throat, body ache or headache? Don’t brush them aside. If you experience symptoms of Swine Flu (H1N1), knowing what to do next can help you take the right steps and protect those around you.”
Here are six simple steps with which one can be safe during the H1N1 virus alert:
Wash hands regularly, cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze.
Wear a mask if there are any symptomatic changes. The best is to avoid crowded closed spaces.
Another important thing to be kept in mind is to keep the indoor air moving.
And the last but the most important thing is to stay home when you feel sick or under the weather.
