Fresh low pressure over Bay of Bengal, this low pressure has formed in the areas adjacent to West Bengal and Bangladesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.
The effect of rain will be more in various parts of coastal Odisha. The wind speed is likely to be 40-50 km per hour on the coast, gusting to 60 km per hour. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till August 24.
Reports said, heavy rain is likely to continue in Odisha till the August 26. The entire state has been put on alert for rain today. Orange warning for heavy to very heavy rain in five districts.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for all the remaining districts. With the fresh low pressure over Bay of Bengal, the monsoon trough is also active. On the other hand, a low pressure area is active in northeast Madhya Pradesh and its surrounding areas.
