There has been an accident in Rayagada district of Odisha in which several labourers have been critically injured. A pickup van carrying laborers overturned after losing control at Talana Ghat road under Putasing police station in Rayagada district.
According to reports, in the road accident in Rayagada there were more than 25 labourers involved. The accident took place when the labourers were going from Shagada village to Dokashikala village in Padmapur block to harvest paddy in the farmland.
Meanwhile, on receiving the information about the incident, the Gunapur Fire services personnel and Putasing police immediately reached the spot.
In a a joint effort they rescued the injured and admitted them to Gunapur Medical College and Hospital. After primary treatment, the injured were shifted to Paralakhemundi and Rayagada Medical College for better treatment.
It has been reported that all of them are labourers from Shagada village. Police reached the spot, seized the vehicle and started investigation. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Further detailed reports awaited.
