Ganja was seized in Ganjam district of Odisha, it was being transported in an expensive car said reliable reports. The Excise Department had a major success as the amount of ganja seized in Ganjam was huge.
According to reports, an expensive car full of marijuana was seized from the post office near the Sorda Excise Police Station in Ganjam. One accused likely to be a peddler has been arrested.
The arrested accused belongs to Jigrimah village under Daringibadi Police Station limits in Kandhamal district. The Excise Department, after receiving information from a special source, blocked the vehicle near the Sorda post office and checked it.
It was found that there was a huge quantity of ganja in the vehicle. The Excise Department then seized as much as 45 kgs of ganja from the expensive vehicle and has produced the accused in court.
Investigation has revealed that the ganja was being smuggled from Kandhamal to Kondal. The estimated value of the seized ganja is said to be around five lakh rupees. Futher investigation is underway.
