There has been a landslide in Maharashtra in which two have died and several others are feared to be trapped, rescue operations are underway. According to reports the landslide occurred in the wee hours.
Reports say, the landslide in Maharashtra occurred at Gaushiya Chawl, Chirag Nagar, near Rathod Medical in Kurla, at around 4 am. Till now two bodies have been recovered and three to four people are suspected to be trapped.
Sources say, due to the rain a landslide has occurred in the Ashok nagar area under the jurisdiction of the Ghatkopar police. Two bodies have been recovered so far, and rescue operation is underway.
Further, the police personnel are deployed there, along with all the major teams for the rescue operations including officials from the BMC, NDRF, and other agencies.
Fresh reports say that, seven to eight persons are likely to be still trapped. The rescue operation is underway. The teams of MFB, Police, 108 Ambulance, NDRF and ward staff are present at the spot. The two bodies that have been recovered have sent to the nearest hospital.
