Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati inaugurated the 12th State-Level National Handloom Day celebration and exhibition on Friday.
Reports say that, he also interacted with weavers and artisans, promoting Odisha’s rich handloom heritage. He also had a look at the items displayed in the various counters. He seemed impressed with the intricacy of the work on bags and sarees.
To mark the occasion of National Handloom Day, PM Narendra Modi has shared and X post on his official handle, “Today, on National Handloom Day, we celebrate India’s rich and vibrant handloom heritage. We also salute the skill, creativity and dedication of our weavers and artisans. For generations, they have preserved and enriched our traditions.”
He further added, “Our Government will keep supporting the handloom sector, which is an important pillar of rural empowerment, women-led development and fulfilling the dream of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
As a conclusion he said, “Do share your favourite handloom products and GRWM videos using National Handloom Day, which will encourage those associated with the sector.”
The PM also shared a video where he talked about the significance of handloom.
