In a tragic incident, as many as 70 people including 30 children fell ill in Balasore after attending a feast on Thursday. The incident took place in the Kharida village under Jaleswar block.
The matter happened during a house warming ceremony held in the village. According to the locals, villagers had consumed food. Soon after, they complained of vomiting and diarrhoea.
Authorities said over 70 people have been affected, among them 30 are children. A medical team was deployed to monitor the situation.
District health authorities tested the food samples. An investigation is underway in this regard.
