President Droupadi Murmu offers prayers at a Lord Dhabaleshwar temple in Berhampur today. She prayed to Lord Shiva in the early morning hours on Wednesday, said reliable reports.
It is worth mentioning here that, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu travelled by train in Odisha for the first time ever. The ‘President Special’ train had been brought especially from Delhi for the journey of the President. The train journey started from the Bhubaneswar railway station and ended at the Berhampur railway station.
Both the railway stations had been blocked for general public. No trains were allowed on platform No. 1 and platform No. 2 at both the railway stations. Reports confirmed that all the railway crossings had been kept on high alert and security had been deployed at all points.
After reaching Berhampur, the President travelled for 80 kms by road to Taptapani and offered prayers, performed darshan and aarti at Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple and Shiva Temple at Taptapani.
She is then later in the day after Droupadi Murmu offers prayers she, traveled to the Army camp at Golabandha where she spent the night. And on August 5 that is today she is scheduled to return back to Delhi marking an end to her three-day journey to her home State.
