New DCP of Bhubaneswar Dr. Saravana Vivek M. took charge today. The 2015 batch IPS Dr. Saravana Vivek M. was earlier working as the SP of Berhampur. He said that emphasis will be given to crime control, awareness against cyber crime and foot, bike and PCR patrolling for the prevention of crime in teamwork.
Saravana took charge as the DCP of Bhubaneswar in the presence of Suresh Dev Dutt Singh and other senior officers. The notification regarding his new appointment was issued by the Home Department of the Odisha Government on September 22. He has taken over this responsibility after Jagmohan Meena resigned.
After taking charge, the new DCP of Bhubaneswar outlined the main principles of policing for the state capital, namely teamwork, redressal of public grievances and creating awareness about cyber crime.
New DCP of Bhubaneswar emphasized on working in coordination with the field officers to resolve the problems of the people. Since cyber crime is a big challenge in the city, he informed that a massive awareness campaign will be launched to combat it.
“Preparations are also underway for the upcoming festive season, in which special emphasis is being given to foot patrols, bike patrols and PCR patrols. Bhubaneswar Police has a good team. All the officers will work together to tackle all the challenges faced by the city,” said the new DCP.
