Lightning strike kills excise officer in Kantamal of Boudh District in Odisha. The excise officer died in the lightning strike while patrolling, said reports.
According to reports, the deceased is the Sub-Inspector of Excise Department in Kantamal Block of Boudh District in Odisha. He has been identified as Purushottam Bevarta. He was reportedly struck by lightning near Gochagura in Kantamal Block.
According to reports, Purushottam Bevarta was working in the Excise Department. While patrolling in Kantamal Block, he was suddenly struck by lightning near Gochagura. He was seriously affected. Later, arrangements were made to take him for treatment, but it was too late and he could not be saved.
After receiving the news about the incident, necessary steps have been taken by the departmental officer and the local administration.
