All the schools closed in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. The categories include Primary and Upper Primary Schools, High Schools, Higher Secondary Schools including Government, Government Aided, OAVs, Private schools under Mayurbhanj District will be closed.
The Mayurbhanj district administration has directed all Block Education Officials (BEOs) to close the schools today that is on September 10 due to heavy rain in the district.
There are signs of a cyclone in Odisha as the the weather in the Bay of Bengal is all set to change yet again. There is an active cyclone in the North Andaman Sea and its surrounding areas. It is reported to have spread up to a height of about 5.8 km above sea level.
Under the influence of this depression, a low pressure area is likely to form by the September 11. It may form near the coasts of North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha adjacent to the West-Central and North-West Bay of Bengal.
As a result, rain bearing clouds may form over the Bay of Bengal and the amount of rainfall may increase in some parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. A cyclone in Odisha is likely! However, the direction in which the low pressure will move after the formation of the depression and how strong it will be will be more clear from the subsequent weather reports.
