Two snakebite deaths in Bhadrak district of Odisha in a gap of just one day. A woman dies and then just the following day her husband succumbs, both to snakebites.
In a tragic incident, a couple dies of snakebites in Bhadrak. A day after the wife’s death, the husband has succumbed said reliable reports. The man was reportedly sleeping at home after performing his wife’s last rites when a snake bit him and he succumbed.
This shocking incident took place in Madhupur village of Govindpur panchayat in Tihidi block of Bhadrak district. On the morning of the September 3, the mas’s wife suddenly fell ill. She was immediately taken to Bhadrak hospital for treatment, but the doctor declared her brought dead. The man was in a shock and any how completed the last rites of his wife and returned home.
However fate had a different twist, when he was sleeping he suddenly fell ill. The villagers checked on him and brought him to Bhadrak district hospital. The doctor said that he was in critical condition after being bitten by a venomous snake and referred him to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital.
However, the man breathed his last on the way. This incident spread a pall of gloom in the village and shocked the locals.
