Ganja seized in Puri district of Odisha on Friday. Reports say about one quintal (83 kg) of ganja was seized in seven sacks in 176 ganja packets. The police arrested two people from Puri on charges of illegal possession of ganja. It is worth mentioning that, Puri police has zero tolerance against the drug mafia.
Reports said that, a large quantity of ganja from the rented house of the main accused under the Marine Police Station in Penthakta, Puri. The police also raided his ancestral house in Tikarpada and seized a large amount of money. While the amount is being counted, it is estimated to be around one crore rupees. Gold ornaments, bank accounts, and PAN cards have also been listed.
The police raided the spot after receiving information that the accused had also stored ganja in another house. The accused has been detained and interrogation is ongoing. The accused was previously accused of bringing and trading ganja from Kandhamal and Koraput.
