In a shocking incident, a school teacher death in Dehradun after just eight months of marriage has become a major matter of discussion. It has been alleged that the 25-year-old government school teacher was being harassed for dowry. The harassment was so bad that she ended her life. But before taking the extreme step she recorded a video and shared it on social media.
The woman has been identified as Srishti Kandhari. She was just 25-years-old and had been married for only eight months. A video of her ordeal has now gone viral on social media. The police have registered a case in this matter and a probe has been initiated. The husband has been identified as Saurabh Khatri.
On school teacher death in Dehradun within just eight months of marriage in Dehradun, SSP Dehradun Pramendra Dobhal addressed the media and said, “… Taking swift action, team of SP Rural and CEO collected all important evidence and arrested two people: her husband and her sister-in-law…”
He further added that, “Strict Police action will be taken against all the accused… We will make every effort to see that the case is taken up in fast-track court and they are given the strictest punishment.”
It is worth mentioning here that, in the police complaint Srishti’s mother alleged that her daughter was physically and mentally harassed for dowry and was humiliated by being called names on a regular basis by her husband and his relatives. She was reportedly called “inauspicious” and “unlucky” repeatedly.
