In a shocking and gruesome incident, a youth has been killed in Puri following a severe knife attack. The incident took place in Mohana Sahi of Chandanpur police limits in Puri district of Odisha in the wee hours of Friday.
According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Kalia Mallik. He is said to be a resident of Puri. Kalia reportedly had a dispute with a man identified as Chabimanyu of the same village. The dispute reportedly pertained to property matters.
Further reports stated that, Kalia initially attacked Chabimanyu. However later last night Chhabimanyu attacked Kalia. The attack seemed directly out of a movie set. Kalia was chased on the roads and brutally attacked with a knife. Kalia was found by the villagers in a critical condition. He was instantly rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Chandanpur police arrived at the spot and immediately shifted Kalia to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) as his condition became very critical. The youth however has lost a lot of blood and succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
An FIR has been registered by the police and a manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers. After the initial investigation, the police have said that the exact reason behind the fatal attack is yet to be ascertained. Further details awaited in this matter.
