Tamil Nadu MLAs to get new car and monthly expenses of Rs. 1 lakh in Joseph Vijay’s government, said reliable reports in this regard.

While announcing about the Tamil Nadu MLAs to get new car bonanza CM Vijay said, “MLAs need to travel to their constituencies frequently to address people’s problems. Government vehicle will ensure transparent and corruption free governance.”

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay announced that the MLAs will be given new cars and monthly financial support including Rs. 75,000 for vehicle expenses and Rs. 25,000 for an assistant or secretary. The announcement was made under Assembly Rule 110, with benefits funded by the government.

In addition to the above he announced an increase in the state health insurance coverage limit from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 25 lakhs.

The move was welcomed by all the MLAs. A few MLAs in the assembly shared the ordeal that they had to go through to reach the House. On shared that he had to show his ID card to the police as they would not believe that he is an MLA.

The opposition however criticized the move by saying that buying cars for 234 MLAs will burden the state. The maintenance will also cost a lot to the state exchequer.
